What is 5-MeO-MiPT

5-MeO-MiPT, or 5-methoxy-N-methyl-N-isopropyltryptamine, is a synthetic indole alkaloid chemical from the tryptamine class. The core structure of tryptamines is a bicyclic, indole heterocycle joined at R3 and an NH3 group with a sidechain(ethyl).

Alexander Shulgin and David Repke first discovered 5-MeO–MiPT synthesis in 1985. Shulgin’s book TiHKAL (“Tryptamines that I’VE known and loved”) documented its effects.

The properties of 5-MeO–MiPT are still unknown. It is available online for research purposes, but it is strongly recommended to follow all safety precautions when handling the substance.

5-MeO-MiPT Effects

Orally, 5-MeO–MiPT can produce psychedelic effects lasting up to 6 hours. The effects can last for up to two hours when smoked.

This anologue to the popular drug 5-MeO–DiPT (foxy-methoxy), has been dubbed “moxy” in the RC community. Some users report feeling the tactile effects of Moxy, without any unwanted side effects. It becomes more psychedelic, and less tactile at higher doses.
